Personal Investment Tips

Be extremely careful if the returns promised on an investment dramatically exceed what is generally available on the market. If the investment sounds too good to be true, it probably is. This red flag usually means that the investment is either too ambitious in its claims, too risky, or it is simply a scam. Try to avoid these investments when possible, or at least do all of your homework first.

No Lack Of Choice Regarding Credit Cards

Everyone enjoys getting one of those pre-authorized credit card applications in the mail. Somehow it feels like an affirmation of your credit standing, and that people recognize that you are worthy of their credit and pursue your business like a sports agent trying to sign an elite athlete. However, while these credit cards may look enticing, with short term low interest rates or a special signing bonus, these credit cards might not be the ones best suited to your credit purchase habits. It's not reasonable to assume that just because you can earn a lot of rewards points on one credit card that those rewards points will be useful for anything you wish to apply them. If there's nothing in the reward program that is applicable to you, then you aren't like going to be maximizing your return on your credit purchases.

With so many competitors out there in the credit card market, it seems more reasonable for you to shop your credit around. You might not be interested in a rewards program, but a cashback program might be more likely to give you a tangible return on your credit transactions. Or a no fee credit card might be in your best interest over the opportunity to earn a discount on a car or a vacation.

Unless we have limited credit standing, we shouldn't have to limit ourselves to one or two choices. Shop around online, and take the time to find the right credit card solution for your particular lifestyle or spending needs. If you don't need to have that platinum card other than to flash it to your friends, then select another credit card that is more appropriate for you. Look around at some of the Internet's credit card comparison sites; read reviews and consumer reports. You might find that the time spent could benefit you in the long run, especially if you can take advantage of the right offer that the right credit card company can offer you.
